The switch used in the blower is of SPST type of switch which means it has one terminal which opens or closes the other terminal depending on the air pressure. In the case of the trane, the switch is set to activate at low-pressure value of 0.20 inches water column (WC). At pressure withstanding of the HVAC system which is less than 0.20 inches of water column the Trane responds. Such potential response could turn out to differ depending on how the switch is wired to the rest of the system.
