The Lennox 17F52 Collector Box Kit is an addition that is installed in specific Lennox heating and cooling systems. Found frequently in condenser units, it is vital in condensate control, a process imperative for operation and safety. In cooling, moisture is taken away from the warm air and is dropped on the evaporator coil by the refrigerant. This condensate has to be taken out to prevent its buildup in the unit. This collector box collects water from several drain pans and coil surfaces and discharges the water through a single outlet pipe. Other accessories that may be included in the kit are a condensate trap, which prevents sewer gases from entering the house through the drain line.
