The Lennox 17W56 Class 2 transformer is used in many different Lennox HVAC products such as furnaces and air conditioners. It safely transforms the normal household electricity from a primary voltage of 120 volts, 60 hertz to a secondary voltage of 24 volts. This reduced voltage is used to operate low-voltage control circuits in the HVAC system to prevent them from being burnt out due to high voltage.
