The Emerson Flow Controls (Alco) 063649 Thermostatic Expansion Valve (TXV) is used for R22 refrigerant in HVAC systems including air conditioning and refrigeration. This 5-ton capacity valve controls the amount of refrigerant to be passed through the evaporating coil to ensure high performance of the cooling process. ODF connection sizes of 3/8” x 1/2” and a capillary tube of 30” make it easy to install. Through metering refrigerant based on evaporator superheat, the TXV optimizes system efficiency and ensures that no liquid refrigerant gets into the compressor to harm it. Advantages are increased energy, uniform cooling, and increased system performance in different HVAC uses.
