The Emerson Flow Control (Alco) 057616 1/2-Ton Thermostatic Expansion Valve (TXV) is suitable for use with R-134a refrigerant. With 3/8” x 1/2” SAE angled connections, this TXV is used in refrigeration and air conditioning applications. Depending on the sensed temperature, it controls the amount of refrigerant to be circulated through the evaporator so as not to overload and work inefficiently. As it optimizes the flow of refrigerant, it enhances energy use, cuts costs of operation, and also increases the longevity of the refrigeration equipment.
