Emerson Flow Control (Alco) 048802 1/2″ FxM Flare Moisture Indicator AMI-1FM4 is a used in HVAC systems to check for the presence of moisture in the refrigerant lines. This moisture indicator works through the ability to display the presence of moisture within the refrigerant system. When moisture is present it collects in the sight glass and hence is easily seen by the technician. It enables the easy detection of moisture contaminants, which are hazardous to the performance and efficiency of the HVAC system. Water in the refrigerant lines causes several issues starting with low cooling capacity and rising through to increased energy consumption and potentially damage to the compressor.
