The Amana-Goodman 0164F00017 Elbow Trap is a condensed, molded drain component, which is used in HVAC systems to create an airtight seal on the condensate lines to prevent the entry of air and to offer sufficient drainage. The elbow trap operates by creating a liquid seal that does not allow unwanted airflow and forces condensate to the drain connection in a 90-degree diversion. The trap is fitted by attaching it to the condensate line and fixing the trap to the end of the drain pan outlet as indicated in the service instructions.
