The Amana-Goodman 0151R00209S Thermal Expansion Valve is a cooling metering component that is applied to regulate the flow of liquid refrigerant into the evaporator coil in HVAC systems. It operates by measuring temperature, and pressure at the outlet of the evaporator and changing the internal valve opening to allow the right amount of refrigerant to flow into the coil. It is applied in R-410A applications having nominal capacities of approximately 1.5 to 2 tons. It controls the flow of refrigerant over the coil to ensure constant evaporation conditions and uniform cooling operation during system operation.
