The Raypak 007374F is a 24-volt Hot Surface Ignition (HSI) module developed for use with Raypak pool heaters. The HSI module uses electrical transformers to boost the incoming 24-volt supply to a significantly higher voltage, usually in the thousands of volts, when the heater receives a start signal. An igniting electrode located inside the module is the target of the high voltage. A spark is produced across the electrode gap by this high voltage. The heater's combustion process is started when the spark leaps from the electrode to the gas pilot burner, igniting the gas mixture. An additional feature of the HSI module may include flame detecting once the pilot burner is lit.
