The Rheem-Ruud SP11309Y Magnesium Anode Rod is designed to help guard water heaters and boilers against corrosion. It is made of premium magnesium which works like a sacrificial anode to help excrete corrosive substances that may affect the tank. It also serves to extend the longevity of the boiler or water heater in this manner. This rod comes with a hex head size of 1-1/16”, with 0. 75” diameter and 3/4” NPT thread size, and is used with other related systems; it has total length of 34-3/8”.
